Frequently asked.

The questions you were about to send with /help.

Is COM1 a normal messenger?

Yes — direct and group conversations are part of the core experience. It also includes optional tools aimed at developers and makers.

Do I need a real email or phone number?

The supplied app's registration screen uses a chosen user ID and password. A personal email or phone number is not required at signup. Account recovery is limited.

Are all chats end-to-end encrypted?

No. Standard chats are server-readable. Secure Link is a separate manual shared-secret content encryption mode, with limits described in the Security page.

Will my messages survive reinstalling?

Not necessarily. Free delivered message history may be stored locally only. Clearing app data can remove it permanently. Cloud backup depends on SYSOP entitlements and the active backend configuration.

Can I use my own AI API keys?

Yes, the current source includes eight provider integrations with keys in platform secure storage. Requests may send selected chat content to those external providers.

Does COM1 work with my home server?

HTTP requests run on the device and can contact reachable local-network services. COM1 also has bot and shared SSH integration paths, subject to deployment and access rights.

Is COM1 published on Google Play or the App Store?

Public download links will be added here once the Google Play and Apple store listings are confirmed.

How do I delete my account?

Use Settings → Delete Account in COM1, or make an email-based request without the app through Delete account.
